An Exceptional Austrian Silver, Enamel and Mother of Pearl Nef

Height: 97 cm, 38 ¼ in.
Width: 65 cm, 25 5/8 in.
The spiral-turned masts terminating in a flag finial above a crow's nest. Figures of sailors on the main body, the sails decorated on both sides with vegetation, allegorical and mythological scenes. The masts joined by arched bridges, set on an ovoid deck sourmonted by a griffin, the trellis-cast stern applied with a winged mermaid, the interior and exterior of the recessed hull further decorated with foliage, masks and allegorical scenes. Resting on four dolphin supports and spreading square base centred on each side by a glass-enclosed putto and hippocampus.
